One of our favourite things about winter is getting to layer up and dress up. Depending on where you live will determine how much you need to layer up, but we love those dressier looks that you can create for yourself when the weather is cooler.

For those who find themselves facing their wardrobe in need of outfit inspiration, we have put together this Winter Warmers blog post to help you create your very own signature winter looks using some of our favourite Lou Lou pieces; keeping you warm but stylish too.

CHOOSE A HERO PIECE

For those who have no idea where to start, we suggest initially choosing one hero piece from your wardrobe you’d really love to wear. Perhaps it is a jacket, or a beanie, or a knit jumper you love, but set it aside and then get ready to plan the rest.

BUILD A BASE LAYER

Once you have your hero piece set aside we would suggest going back to the beginning and building your outfit around that look. Building out your base layer will allow you to plan your top and bottom choices to work with your hero piece.

We love the Lana Pant and long sleeved tops like the Adele Tee or the Ava Crop or any turtle necks like our Molly Skivvy. Paired with the Lana Pant or Luxe legging you will be sure to keep your legs warm. Don’t underestimate the power of a singlet like the Cindy Singlet to put under everything for extra warmth.

ADD ACCENT LAYERS FOR WARMTH

This is where we add in vests, cardigans or knits to add that extra layer and style. We love longer knee length cardigans like our Merino/Bambooo Pocket Cardi or the plain Bamboo Pocket Cardi to really add flattering volume and layers to your outfit. For those who love dresses, this is where you can add in dresses over your base layer to create a feminine winter look. Try our Ariana Dress.

STYLE WITH FINISHING TOUCHES

This is where we add the final layer of winter boots, beanies or hats, jewellery, scarves and jackets to really complete your look. We love to use the Sassoon Merino/Bamboo Scarf and The Supreme Merino/Bamboo wrap for extra warmth. Both boast a drape style cut that will flatter most if not all body shapes.

The great thing about layering up is that as the day warms up, you can remove some and add them again later if you need, giving you a versatile winter wardrobe which will see you in to the warmer months. Plus if you are creating outfits with your Lou Lou pieces, you will be enjoying the benefits of the thermal properties of the sustainable Bamboo fabric.
