After years of running Lou Lou out of our own local shop front, there was one thing that we knew we loved, and it was our customers. Helping them find the perfect match from our range, and styling them head to toe, regardless of shape or size, was a pure joy to our team.  We loved creating a positive retail experience for our customers, and watching them leave happily with their purchase and new found confidence is what built our business… long before the days of Instagram and social media.

Today though, it has become even more of a treat to follow along online and see our beloved Lou Lou community wearing their new pieces and posting on Instagram or Facebook. Not only do we love being tagged in your imagery, but on a daily basis we are on the receiving end of glowing testimonials, emails and direct messages from our customers. And we absolutely love it. So we thought it was about time we started introducing you to some of these fabulous people.

Today we have an interview with one of our favourite customers, Karin, where we chat all things Lou Lou.

Tell us a little about yourself. What do you do and where do you live?

My name is Karin Griffin and I live in Subiaco, a suburb in Perth. I work as a violinist playing gypsy jazz music on a semi acoustic violin in Duo Narcos and play blues on a Bridge dragon electric violin (with efx) and teach.

How long have you been wearing Lou Lou and what do you love about our pieces?

I’ve been wearing Lou Lou since my girlfriend bought some pieces on holiday a few years ago and wore them. They were so great I asked who’d made them and got some too. Now I’ve just bought 4 pieces for my 23yr old step daughter to take away to Japan where she’s going to live.

What’s not to love about clothes that have lasted over 4 years and still look like new… they mix and match and can be worn Summer and Winter!

I choose timeless styles so that I can wear my clothes as long as possible....they have great designs, wonderful materials, last for years (I’ve only replaced the cardigan as it’s worn out after three seasons) and are a delight to wear....Oh and washing! Easy care, no ironing and dry overnight on a clothes line! That’s all environmentally friendly too and saves me money!

I started off with a striped Janet Maxi for Summer and loved it. The material is such fab quality, perfect for a hot humid Brisbane Summer, and the cut and design just worked. After several washes I bought another one as well as a black one and wore them constantly. As Winter arrived I then got into that range and adore the long cardigan and throws. Everything I buy has been really amazing. Some pieces are well over 4 years old and I wear them Summer and Winter.

What’s your favourite piece and how would you style it?

I love the Janet maxi (just wish it came in one size larger and more colour ways like navy!) I wear it in Summer as it’s wonderfully cool and then I will pair it with sandals and dress it up or down with jewellery. Then in Winter I add leggings underneath, boots and the Dion cashmere bamboo cardigan or mid season the Quatro bamboo duster on top! I also wear the black one on stage and use various flowing long open shirts to change the look. They are an amazingly versatile piece, then with jeans or the Whitney long tube skirt the Cindy and Tina tops, throw a cardigan on from the range and you have great pieces.

What Lou Lou piece are you currently eyeing off?

Oh I’m a bit naughty these days… I have all of the range I like as soon as it hits the web site (I’ve never been to the shop, although I hope to one day come over for a holiday and drop in!). Why?  I know it’s fab and if it doesn’t work the return of goods is simple so no issue! All in all I adore Lou Lou clothes… best on the market for any time or place! Perfect for younger women or older, environmentally friendly in its ongoing use and great for travel, any time, any place.....what’s not to love?
